Kids Love It Too......

Kids Love It Too......

So its official, I can now wholeheartedly state that kids love a photo booth too. Us adults have dominated the booth hire up until now, and who would have thought that kids could love it as much as we do.
I have been fortunate to host two Christmas fairs recently, both for Primary schools and here are my findings.
The first was Avondale Park School, this was particularly special and dear to me personally. Having grown up and still residing in the North Kensington area, this school was directly affected by the The Grenfell Tower fire. They lost a teacher and a family to this tragedy. You can't even imagine how primary school aged children can process such sadness and pain. So to be able to bring some smiles and joy to the kids was a rewarding and humbling experience. It was a voluntary booking but one I'll never forget. The old adage of never working with children or animal is not a saying I would vouch for as my day was a real joy (however all animals were of the stuffed toy variety).
And more recently Loco For Photo was booked by Cardinal Newman primary school in Surrey. Their Christmas fair was quite an extravaganza. Having over 350 pupils placed at this school, they certainly know how to use their size jointly with the huge involvement of all parents to ensure the day is fun yet also fund raises for the benefit of the school and future pupils. The magic mirror was booked with a greenscreen using Christmas themed backdrops.
The children were totally in their element. They got thoroughly involved in prop placement and happily positioned themselves with Homer Simpson santa or The Grinch behind them.
Of course for this age of children they find it a novelty to actually be given a printed version of their photo. With the power of the iPhone and digital means of trapping pictures, moments. For them to have a keepsake was treasured by all. It was fantastic to see their faces when the photo dropped out within 30 seconds of posing. For peers of my age (41) I can still remember the anticipation of waiting for the photos to develop at Boots or Snappy Snaps (that was waiting a week or 2).
So I have been pleasantly surprised and delighted at hosting two very unique bookings. And most of all enlightened to know that all ages can indeed enjoy the magic mirror experience!!!
